Kalabsha Temple

Kalabsha Temple is one of the largest free-standing ancient temples in Nubia, beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Nasser near Aswan. Originally built during the Roman period and dedicated to the Nubian sun god Mandulis, the temple blends Egyptian architectural traditions with Roman influence.

Like several monuments in the area, Kalabsha Temple was carefully relocated stone by stone to its current island location during the UNESCO rescue campaign, protecting it from flooding caused by the Aswan High Dam.

Visitors arrive by boat, adding a sense of adventure to the experience.
